This song is the love letter of a brokenhearted they, who finds themselves unable to continue the cycles of abuse, neglect and trauma that were so well masqueraded as love in their childhood. We all need help. & they see that so clearly. Maybe even an unnatural intellectualisation of the human experience that makes them feel that true, satisfying, safe and deep connections are like a butterfly just out of reach. But that's not true, because they are more than their mind and the human experience has far more to offer than what they perceive in this now. You just wait and see. Wait and see when you trust the breaking out of your own mind.

This is a language guide to people who didn't know what words to say when it meant the most. And finally, this is a reclaiming of power, the knowingness that you are the only person who ever needed to validate themselves and their voice.

Waiting

Nirvana Nokwe is a multidisciplinary artist. The 26-year-old is a trained singer, actress, producer, fashion model and filmmaker. Her aims are to create an audio-visual experience, encompassing beauty, high art, fashion and live performance. Nirvana's storytelling is intimate, truthful and, quite literally, out of this world with her ethereal sounds and deep passions for astrology.

As a solo artist, she began her career on SoundCloud. Her debut EP, Cosmic Bae Trilogy III saw her flex her writing chops with subject matters that sought the intersection of astrology and love. In addition, it was her first foray into producing herself. Her recent release, titled Nirvous Love is a 6 track EP utilising sounds inspired by Zulu drums, retro music and indie pop, Nirvana intends to pioneer a genre called Cosmic with this body of work. She has recently graced stages such as #RoadToAfrochella, an activation of world renowned Music Festival Afrochella happening in Ghana.

creating IGNORANCE SONG was a process that opened me up to a world of potentials that lay just beyond the fears and (dis)beliefs i held around who i was and what i could be. unbeknownst to me, it was the first dip of my curious toes into the waters of BXB LOVE.

This collaboration came about after I was going through Jadyn's TikTok videos. There was this one snippet he had posted of this song. I immediately felt like I wanted to record to it. The slowed and down pitched Drum and Bass beat felt nocturnal and the things he was talking about in his part were relatable to the point that it inspired what I eventually centered my writing around.

This is honestly one of my favorite songs ever. Produced by Jamee Cornelia and she did the artwork as well. It’s not many times I work w/ other music artists who have high enough taste AND skill to produce, do graphics, write, and record. I mixed the vocals down and wrote my parts of course but that was about it. Was super fun to do, and I'm excited for the future of web3 collaborations.

Godsend

I wrote, produced, mixed, and mastered this song. This was a crazy time, I created this song in Brooklyn, New York BEFORE the police brutality protests really took off around the country. Even wilder that the movement started in my home state of Minnesota. Idk what was in the air but I could feel that this message was needed before everything really popped off. I was thankfully able to use my voice and resources to establish my non-profit "Yebo Life." We gave thousands of pounds of goods to the mainly POC neighborhoods that were destroyed during the George Floyd protests, as well as supplies to make sure the protesters were safe. 

If I had to describe this song in 2 words it'd be.... conscious banger.
