It is a beautiful project that began as a happy accident of sounds created by myself and a dear friend, a project which we can no longer work on due to the audio files being destroyed through a computer crash. This is the only version and will be the only version of this intimate project.

LSDREAM is a 9 minute and 11 second dancefloor escapade created by Paul Salva Jr. aka SALVA, created entirely on his eurorack modular rig.  The artist’s goal for LSDREAM was to synthesize the intense journey of an LSD trip for the format of a large club sound system.  On this song SALVA accidentally creates a new genre that he dubs ACID FOOTWORK.  Naturally, somebody in the world must have explored the combination of these two genres before, but never like this.  Enjoy!!  :)

At the moment when chaos takes form, a beautiful shape emerges from sound granules, resembling a carnation flower. Blooming, the flower sings a simple melody that becomes more complex as it evolves. 
At its peak, the melody becomes a song, but the voice and appearance reveal that this song belongs to a synthetic being...

Track 2 of the Motherland suite - a series of meditative tone poems exploring themes of belonging and identity through my Japanese ancestry and roots. 

While in Kaga, western Japan for an artist residency during Summer 2019, I visited Kakusenkei Gorge - where some of the Motherland Suite video footage was shot. Kodama Shade was inspired by this magical place. The kodama are folkloric Japanese tree spirits and as I walked through the gorge, there was a palpable presence of ancient otherworldly spirits.
