initially a shorter version of this track was called "sumthin type beat" based on my love for sumthin sumthin & his aggresive wubz. i had it up on my soundcloud like that for a week or so, but i really wanted to flush out the idea more so i took it down and made it longer and finally came up with this final version. it's one of my favorite tracks to drop live.

The track that started it all...

One of my most recognizable beats.  The success of this album and this beat specifically essentially started my career in music. 

The story of why it's called 'Yeezy' is that originally, TeamSupreme got word through the grapevine that Kanye needed beats for his new album.  This obviously never became a Ye hit, but the opportunity itself sparked the idea.

This sort of became my sound, and I've been expanding on it ever since.
