Bored Ape Richard Vagner and I recorded this piece** in a live session at his LA home. It's a nod to the special moment we're currently in as early adopters/experimenters in the Audio NFT and Metaverse performance space. Although we work in different genres (I'm a classically trained vocalist in 14th century Sufi tradition of North India, and Richard is a virtuoso violinist rooted in the Western tradition), we found common inspiration upon meeting in person after having known each other awhile on the Clubhouse app. I visited Richard at his LA home during my first visit from NYC, an eventful trip that convinced me to relocate to LA. The impromptu jam and recording/mixing of Sufi vocals, Ukulele, Violin, and Electronic soundscapes in the hours that followed is a testament to the creative power of this time we're in, particularly as the rest of the world catches on (VISA bought a CryptoPunk just a few days ago, which makes us laugh because (a) VISA had to become a single digital wallet, but it also makes us think because (b) we have to be careful not to let centralized institutions steal our JPEGS! NFTs are a paradigm shift and this is just the beginning.
