“Drive” is for the people who, like me, plan their exit strategy at a party the second they arrive. It’s about taking the power back from my anxiety and prioritizing my happiness. After being at a party where I just didn’t fit in, feeling totally in my head the whole time, I reflected on why I felt the need to fit in with people I didn’t have anything in common with. It’s ultimately a song about learning how to be comfortable on my own, comfortable in my own skin.

“Fire” is a song that was inspired by the back and forth mind games I used to play with an old love interest. Late nights, lust, passion, and anger are some of the emotions I channelled into this song. Although I found the whole experience with her unbearable at times, we both were attracted to the thrill of it all in the end. It was this duality of emotions that I needed to get off my chest, and thus the creation of “Fire” was born.

I wrote the song as a sentiment to wanting to create a new life with her where we can freely be who we are with reassurance and no fear of where we’re headed.

The title's definition is, "the state of having mixed feelings or contradictory ideas about something or someone"; which can be a familiar feeling in a relationship when you're both unsure if it's over or not. It's about a long-distance relationship with doubt from the opposite partner due to the distance, written from the perspective of the person trying to keep the relationship afloat.

“mason jar” is about my fear of letting people down, causing me to put their needs before my own in an unhealthy way. I wrote it at a time when I felt like I was traveling back and forth between LA and home (Clovis, CA) so often that it was taking a toll on me. The tipping point happened one winter night driving back to LA, when I had to take an alternate route through the icy roads in the Mojave Desert because the Grapevine was closed.
