Back in 2018 we were starting a project and this was one of the very first demos.

This is overall a song about love. loving yourself and how that is such an important part of loving someone else.

My new single APC's ! This is the best song in the world it is a song about jeans.. you should buy it now %1000 a must own NFT. I made this in the Fall and it's a song about falling in love with someone new and the moments between the time you spend together. It's about wandering around the streets of LA and just wasting time until you get to see the person again. I wanted to make a song that captures the feelings in those moments. This song feels like peace to me, there is a bliss I remember feeling and when I started writing I was really intentional about capturing that in this song. It means the world to me and I'm hyped to be able to run this NFT alongside the official release on DSP's as a unique way to engage with this track. 🏆💖

A.P.C.'s

Okay so for my 4th catalog release I wanted to do something new. A new song, new for me, a new collaborator, a new style adding onto the sonic palette I’ve been shaping throughout the past few years. It’s called “in my hotel room distracting myself from the lawsuits” and it is defined by its uniqueness. I made it smack in the middle of my month and a half in Europe. A down day sandwiched in between double booked sessions and a music video to be shot starting at 5am the next day in Dungeness. I had a lot stressing me out at the time and wanted to spend my day relaxing and catching up on sleep (this did not happen). I was stressed about getting music turned in and not missing my train in the morning. The high of international travel had worn off and I was ready to be home. Safe to say I was overwhelmed, couldn’t sleep, and chose to cope with it by sitting down and writing new music. Me and Harry had been working on some ideas together and I revisited one and knew this was the perfect song to encapsulate my current lonely, compartamentalized state. I set up a small studio in my room and made the rest of what is now “In my hotel room distracting myself from the lawsuits.” Once it was finished, Harry and I knew this would be a perfect Catalog release and began the process of getting it finalized. I am so excited for whoever will come to own this song and this little piece of me and can’t wait to see the life it will live outside this moment, beyond Catalog, and in the world. 💗Thanks so much here’s to another important release.

In My Hotel Room Distracting Myself From the Lawsuits (w/ Harris Cole)

Let's Go ! So this is "Swingset" my second ever release. I made this when I first moved to LA and I was living in a loft in downtown and it was a cool place but living downtown was crazy, very hectic all the time going outside to get groceries could be taxing. I moved from Missouri, and the first month or so I was delivering for postmates on a bike and fucking exhausted and honestly making like 8 dollars an hour some days, but then I started rolling out new music and started writing for people and making money and my life got better. This song is kind of the start of me being able think realistically about making music my entire life, living the dream I have known I was supposed to live since I was 11 years old. When I put it out I was worried the break at :47 seconds was too ambitious and would make it too weird to get on playlists but I ran with it anyway and this is one of my favorite decisions I've made to this day. To ever ends up owning this, cheers, this song is really a piece of me and I'm happy you have it. ❤️

(I also used an alternative artwork that we had that, looking back, i kind of like more... haha so consider it a special edition!)

What You Want

Okay I wrote this song like 3 years ago when I was living in downtown la locked in my room in a loft just making music all the time. I made like 300 songs that year and some of them are still my best work to this day. So a lot of them turned into nothing some turned into releases but like a year after that I was living in a tiny apartment in silverlake and the a/c was leaking taking a toll on both the hardwood floors and our security deposit. So billy came over and it was a hot summer day with no a/c and we made a bunch of stuff but at the end I played him this demo and he was like “ that’s perfect, I have an idea.” I gave him the files and he came back like a week later with what is now ‘different world.’ I love that song so much and I always felt like sharing the original demo would be a powerful way to add some more context. I am excited about this as an opportunity to share a little more of what inspired the song and the story behind it and giving someone the opportunity to own a little piece of the creative process.
